The residential, group Wellness Enhancement and Longevity Learning (WELL) Program at the Kolp Institute, held quarterly, is designed for people who desire to improve their lives by resolving their ongoing existential challenges and changing their inflexible patterns of behavior. The program is intended for those who are facing existential issues (distressing near-death experience, terminal illness), psycho-spiritual problems (conflicts that involve the person’s relationship with a transcendent being or force, frightening mystical experience), psycho-religious difficulties (questioning of a firmly held faith, conversion to a new faith), or those who may be at risk of developing serious addictions and/or stress-related illnesses due to unhealthy habits, stressful lifestyle, and spiritual dissatisfaction.

The WELL Program is designed to help our clients optimize their lifestyle and enhance their overall physiological and psychological health and well-being. The Kolp Institute is dedicated to helping our clients take charge of their own recovery from unhealthy habits and stressful lives and remain healthy — not just for a season, but for a lifetime.

Participants are encouraged to fully commit to our program consisting of three main parts: Preliminary Detoxification, to be done at home using our detailed preparation materials; a one week Residential Workshop; and two years of follow up care in the form of self-assessment, with feedback from Dr. Kolp.

The residential workshop lasts for a total of seven days, including travel time. Clients continue to practice the clean eating guidelines outlined in our preparation materials for the duration of the workshop. In addition to the reiteration of the values of clean living and eating outlined in our preparation guide , the residential workshop features over fifty hours of encounter groups, interactive classes, and psycho-educational lectures. The WELL Program’s alternative approach to personal growth through a ketamine visionary experience is pivotal to the process of transformation. This powerful technique helps to overcome existential fears, expand the mind to new possibilities, and accelerate psychospiritual growth.

Our egos assist us daily in planning, achieving and surviving in our daily lives. Paradoxically, the ego can also be a barrier to experiencing our true nature and accessing the wisdom that is our genetic inheritance as human beings. Like the ego, many of the ways we cope with the stresses of life also become barriers. Food, drugs, sex, work, and other methods of coping can become crutches that take us further away from happiness and fulfillment.

Even the temporary transcendence of ego can show us possibilities that may have otherwise remained undiscovered. Our morning routine integrates an hydration session, stretching exercise, and loving-kindness affirmation and breathing meditation. The morning routine is then completed with each client’s personal purification ritual and a mindful breakfast. Our day routine includes interactive psycho-educational groups (focused on the development of a healthful lifestyle), existential encounter group (focused on isolation, freedom, meaninglessness and death), mindful munch, transpersonal encounter group (focused on nonreactive presence and awareness, optimal mental health, non-duality, and spirituality), philosophical self-inquiry discussion group (focused on the nature of God and nature of Self), and a cooking class and mindful dinner. Our evening routine incorporates self-support “wisdom circle” group, meditation with visualization, and contemplation with journaling. We end the day with progressive relaxation as a preparation for lucid dreaming.

At the conclusion of the residential workshop, all clients will complete a self-assessment, each evaluating their own progress toward optimal health. For every six months following the residential workshop, clients will receive another self-assessment via email (or regular mail, upon request), to be completed and returned to Dr. Kolp for evaluation. These self-assessments allow clients to track their own progress and their continued implementation of the tenets of our program.
